Blog Letters: Beach Vacation - Day Two - "Hey! We're On Vacation"

I am tired, sun burnt and happy. The sun came out today and boy did we enjoy it. After sleeping in a bit, eating breakfast and regrouping ( as my dad always calls it) We went to explore the fun intriguing little shops here in Long Beach.
 It was great fun pointing stuff out and posing for funny goofy pictures and most of all as you probably are all very tired of me saying making memories. Until looking in these shops never did I realize you can get almost anything you want with your name on it and clothing will go up if you want your current location on it. I found all sorts of neat items, but not anything I couldn't live without.

 We went to a fun little grocery store and I don't know why but if you are living in a cute little cabin for a week and in a quiant little beach town the fun of getting groceries is an even greater excitement. We brought home a tasty lunch of chicken, sourdough bread, fruit, and pop back to the cabin for lunch.

  After we ate, we headed down to the beach so James could fly his kite and the rest of us relaxed or in my case run through the surf like a maniac. It is something about the waves and the power that makes you feel amazing and refreshed. It doesn't seem like quite the right description, but I guess anyone who likes the beach will understand what I mean.

We went from the Seaview approach to the Long Beach approach and saw some of the kites that where there for the International kite festival. They were all in so many vibrant colors and shapes that in a way it was truly breathtaking. My favorite was the one that was a puppy chasing the soccer ball.

 After looking at all the kites and deciding we were tired we went back to the cabin so we all could relax. Some took naps, others relaxed out side and if you are me you sat and read your new Jane Austen novel "Sense and Sensibility."

Around 6ish we decided that we wanted some dinner and went to a family hangout that everyone has loved for generations, Chico's pizza, it is a cute pizza parlor just up the road from where the cabin is in Seaview. We ordered two family favorite traditional pizzas and our pop sat in a both and enjoyed watching the people go in and out enjoying their summer.

It was a lovely day of adventures and sun. We ended the day with warm bubble baths in the deep bath tub and an episode of Wallace and Gromitt.

The One With All The Updates

Erika and Madame Blueberry   The last few months have been crazy busy, full of adventures and the like. It would take forever to tell you everything that has happened, but I will attempt an overview. Since April I was a stage manager to an amazing show called The Lonesome West . I learned so much from the actors I worked with and the experience to produce theatre in the back of a records shop.  Soon after the show closed I took my finals, loaded up my Cadillac (named Madame Blueberry) and left Ellensburg for the summer. I only had a few days to unload my college boxes and reload Madame Blueberry for my summer job. Camp Lutherhaven  Camp Lutherhaven! What an incredible, God arranged summer. There were days I wondered if I was up for the job, but the people I met and the experiences we shared were irreplaceable. When I was at college I made a comment to my mom that all I had to focus and worry about was me and how easy it was to only be concerned about myself...

What Has Kept Erika From Blogging???

After the first night of shows I was so close to getting February's post in February. I sat down to write this so many times, but with a million papers to write for school the idea of writing more at the end of the day seems absolutely impossible. Which is depressing because I love writing. However, the homework has slowed down, relatively, I mean finals are around the corner. Anyway, I did want to update you on a few awesome things that have been happening in my life.
