I live in a little town called Latah about an hour from Spokane. I moved here when I was about 3 and I have always loved it. Here is a little glimpse into my small town world.
1. Everybody is your neighbor not just the people who live next door :) Also everybody knows you pretty much and they are always looking out for you and it is really nice to know that.
2. I love our church, I have grown up in our church and I have learned and experienced so much in that church. I also have created amazing friendships out of that church that will hopefully last a life time.
3. The freedom to walk around town, to go for a bike ride by yourself and not be worried for your safety is amazing and I am so blessed this is where I got to grow up.
4. Our small town celebrations, all the towns around here have at least one celebration that has been going on for years or a couple years. It can sometimes be challenging to get it organized, but I always enjoy going and really feeling that small town atmosphere. In a town like Latah it can sometimes feel like Mayberry or Walnut Grove.
5. The beauty, my town is gorgeous year round whether we are covered in snow or waking up from winter, or the fields are all ready to be harvested it is gorgoues. God had a lot of fun creating the palouse I think.
6. The memories I have made and are still making. Sledding days with neighbors, climbing into the back of the truck with shovels and digging out the town, delivering May day baskets to neighbors, and watching James drive his peddle tractor down the road. These are just to name a few.
No, I am pretty sure God knew what he was doing when he placed my family here. I love to travel, but as of yet I haven't found a place I would rather live.
Kamola looks great in the snow Guys! I haven't done a blog post in so long. Partly due to the craziness of college life, as fall quarter was insanely busy and partly due to my laptop acting out last quarter. Anyway, now I am back and on a working computer. Happy New Year everyone! Hope the holidays were spent with loved ones and were a restful time for all. I really enjoyed being home for a few weeks. My family and I had a lovely Christmas spending time together and focusing on what really matters. For me it was a time to reflect on how blessed I am and what God is doing in my life. Fall quarter was extremely busy. I took sixteen credits and was apart of a production of The Nutcracker. Through that experience I learned not only technical dance skills, but also that bullies can still exist, even in adults. Working with difficult people is sometimes just apart of life. Overall the good that accompanied that show out weighed the bad and I am thankful for the experience. ...
I love this! My favorite line is where you said "God had a lot of fun creating the Palouse!" TOTALLY agree!
