A Trip Across The State

I have been meaning to blog a lot more than I have been, there is so much I want to share with you lovely folks. So here is the first one.
Back in the middle of July I flew to Seattle to help  out with a VBA (vaction bible adventure) the church I went to has been putting on a VBA here for around 14 years and the last year was the first year I went to help with theirs.
Having known that VBA might not even happen this year made me even more thankful for the opportunity to do this trip. So back on July 4th I flew out of Spokane on my own and landed in Seattle. After a bit of a confusing navigation out of the airport that took a security guard, two travelers who realized I was lost, and a man who noticed I was trying to go down the up escalator I finally made it out of the airport and to my host family.
For 4th of July I went with my friends Tori and Hannah to Camp Baracca and enjoyed go karts, a potluck with more VBA related friends and fireworks. On this trip I got to do a lot of touristy fun things like ultimite frisbee, a fun tour of the U-district from Dawna where we found vintage clothes shops, a cool music store, and frozen yogurt. I also went to Alki beach and had another fantastic tour of that area from Jessica, swimming at lake sawyer, sailing from Coulon park with the amazing Brown's,  watching Jane Eyre with the Seims and two amazing worship services at Trinity.
As for VBA it's self I loved being a guide to 7, 7 -8 year olds, I had Moses, who loved that one of the songs had his name in it, Taras and Roman who were cousins, sweet Katheryn who befriended my shy Adeline and finally Ruvim, I had Ruvim last year and he was a different person this year, even though he proved difficult many times he still made me laugh and smile often.
I have always called VBA like a working retreat, I grow in my faith so much after working with teens who have the same values as I do. My faith is always stretghened after a week of VBA. We have a fabulous director, Mrs, Susan Partsch who is my VBA mom, she was so sweet at taking me to the airport the day I left and organized my stay there with the Seims.
I hope it makes me smile when I look back later in life and realized through the summers of my highschool I spent 2 weeks serving with other teens.

What I am Learning as a Student Rep

    Student Representative? What's that? It is a great  role that one girl and one boy run for every year at my co-op. Last year two of my wonderful friends were elected. Rachel and Jakob did a fantastic job. They are part of the reason I decided to run for Student Rep this year.     To start this road of politics I had to write a speech. I spent some time trying to figure out what I wanted to say. I knew what I wanted to say, but I felt like I couldn't phrase it convincingly enough. In the end I decided to state a few ideas I had and not over promise. Signs You Might Be Entering Adulthood

 The last month or so my head has been spinning with exciting life experiences, fun adventures and just plain mundane tasks. My first bit of advice for you on this post is no matter what age you are and people tell you not to try and grow up to fast. Do it! Adulthood comes hurling at you like a bullet. It is way better to just take it one step at a time. Remind me of this periodically when I want to charge ahead into life :)   1st Sign Adulthood is Near ~   " You Get Your Driver's License"   Getting my driver's license was one of the more challenging, yet most satisfying things I have done in a while. Everything Fall For Erika

We are officially a month into my favorite time of year. As anyone who knows me or has been following this blog for a while knows, September through December are my favorite months of the year. I love all the holidays, weather, fashion, food, events, all of it! It makes me so happy and makes me smile. Here are a few things that I have been doing to get in the fall mode. 1.
