A Day In The Life Of Me!

I have had a hard time trying to come up with what to post on here. So browsing pinterest one day I came across a blog challenge so I think I will do that for a while to get me going again. I would love it if you would comment what you think. Today's challenge was to post a picture of myself and a description of my day.
Today was the first day of a music camp my mom and I are doing to raise money for a missions trip to Seattle later this summer I am doing it. I woke up at 6:30 am, got myself ready, today was Hawaii theme day so I wore a colorful flowered skirt with a light t-shirt, did my make - up and fixed my hair in a half pony with a pink flower clip.
Mom and I had breakfast together and discussed our plan of attack for the day. Then I cleaned up the kitchen while Mom gathered the last minute items for camp and by 7:30 am Mom and I crusied in the jeep to the church ( it was a short cruise because we omly live 3 minutes from our church but it was a cruise none the less). At the churh we began finishing the last minute touches on the camp anticipating all the kids that would be arriving within the hour.
By 9am all the kids had arrived and mom started the activities while I set up the craft, the camp continued splendidly until 12pm when it was time for the kids to go. They left with their parents and mom and I cleaned up and set up for the next day.
In no time at all it was time for us to go so once again  in the jeep we cruised home and enjoyed a lunch of casadeas and grapes.
James and I spent an hour or so watching TV and then I had to paint my pinata for tomorrows camp day. I painted half of the pinata, set it in the sun to dry and drank the ice mocha mom had made me.
Then I went to my room where I started writing this.  After this I will go finish my pinata, clean up downstairs before dinner, if there is time help mom with dinner and then relax with my family until my dad comes back from his business trip later tonight. At which time we will regale each other with stories from the last two days, and if I have a moment to spare I may work on the my smashbook. Quick poll how many of you have heard of and or done a smashbook??? Anyway that was just a day in my crazy, amazing life. It sorta makes for boring reading on paper, but when you are living it, it is an adventure!

What I am Learning as a Student Rep

Student Representative? What's that? It is a great  role that one girl and one boy run for every year at my co-op. Last year two of my wonderful friends were elected. Rachel and Jakob did a fantastic job. They are part of the reason I decided to run for Student Rep this year.     To start this road of politics I had to write a speech. I spent some time trying to figure out what I wanted to say. I knew what I wanted to say, but I felt like I couldn't phrase it convincingly enough. In the end I decided to state a few ideas I had and not over promise. I went with the idea that we could worry about the election and then go from there with what we wanted to do as a group.     It was a fun election and in the end I was elected the girl student rep. Luke, the boy student rep won as well and he is such a great guy to work with. I have enjoyed getting to know him and sharing ideas back and forth. Luke is so funny, smart and has fantastic ideas about what ...

Signs You Might Be Entering Adulthood

The last month or so my head has been spinning with exciting life experiences, fun adventures and just plain mundane tasks. My first bit of advice for you on this post is no matter what age you are and people tell you not to try and grow up to fast. Do it! Adulthood comes hurling at you like a bullet. It is way better to just take it one step at a time. Remind me of this periodically when I want to charge ahead into life :)   1st Sign Adulthood is Near ~   " You Get Your Driver's License"   Getting my driver's license was one of the more challenging, yet most satisfying things I have done in a while. I love my new freedom to go where I need to without having to mess up my parents schedule. But wait...... this right of passage can be a trap and a sure sign you are headed to adulthood. When you have a vehicle you can now drive it will want one very important thing. Gas. and gas takes money, money requires a job, a job requires you to get to work, getting to wor...

Travel Blog: Spring Getaway to the Farm

"Home Sweet Home is never truer, than after a trip. No matter how long or how short. No matter how good and memorable. There is nothing happier than walking through the rooms in your home, letting all the familiar things greet you. The home watched the chaos of packing and preparing for your adventure and it is there to greet the tired and exhausted you, when you come home. It watches as you unpack your bags and sink into your favorite chair and smile at the pictures. It sings you to sleep as you drift off with the happy memories of your trip." ~ Erika Laulainen  Our family just returned from a marvelous trip to my great grandparents tree farm. We went to spend some time with my Great-Grandmother and Grandparents.  We left Friday after the morning craziness of work, some school, packing, cleaning the house, and any other little chores that needed  to be finished. Loading all the suitcases, bags, and other various paraphernalia into our car, we then did a last c...
