Glimpse into the Mind of a Blogger #3 "Free Time"

When I saw this question roll in I had to laugh, "How do you send your free time?" Between school work, graduation work, college work, life work, and extra curricular stuff my time becomes anything, but free. However, I have had sometime the last couple of weekends to lay back and breath. So hopefully, this post will help you get an idea of what I like to do.

Probably my favorite thing to do is READ. I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. I used to go to the library and choose a book based off of how big it was. I also tried to read "Gone With the Wind." For my 8th grade spring break book report. It was a failed attempt, however I did a report on a book about Paul Revere's daughter and loved it. As far a book genres go I am a sucker for the classics and have a list that I want to acquire for my constantly growing library. Some favorites authors are Lousia May Alcott, Emily or Charlotte Bronte, Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and so many others that I am forgetting their names. I like current stuff as well. The Percy Jackson series I couldn't put down, thanks to my dear friend who got me to read them. Peter and the Star Catchers another series was one I deeply enjoyed. I also enjoy any books from any of the Life of Faith series, I would love to own more of them, but they are getting harder to find as they are going out of print. I could talk for hours about books. So suffice it to say reading is an enjoyable pass time.

I enjoy listening to music. I often have something playing while I am cleaning, getting ready, reading or studying. My interests are diverse, I like rock ex, Def Leopard, Bon Jovi, Van Halon, Journey, Toto, Asia. Pop ex, Huey Lewis and the News, Sting, One Direction, Anthem Lights, (there is a lot)
Country ex: Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Alison Krauss, Hank Williams, Alabama,
Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, The Judds, Dixie Chicks, Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn.
I write a lot, hence this blog, I mess around writing stories, I have kept a journal for several years. Writing is a way for me to express emotions I can't put into words or convey in person. Staring at a blank sheet of paper inspires me to write or come up with thoughts.

I like adventuring, exploring new places or just hanging out with my family. I am blessed with a family where no matter what we do, we seem to have fun doing it. We like going to lakes or hiking. We explore thrift stores, going to concerts or doing things at home since we are gone so much of the week.
I hope you enjoyed seeing what I like to do for fun. I would love to learn what YOU all do for fun. Leave your answers in the comments and if there is something you want to learn about me comment your questions.

The One Where I Graduate

Hey, Everyone! This girl did the thing, she got her diploma. Not without the help of some dear people. My teachers are incredible through the last few years at the co-op I have worked with me and taught me so many valuable and cherished lessons.  I have been blessed with a loving and hard-working Mother who has spent countless hours preparing and teaching lessons. She has spent time discussing, researching and praying over the best direction she needed to take with my education. My parents have encouraged me through any adventure I chose to embark on. They never let me believe I couldn't achieve whatever I set out to do. They taught me that hard work would always be rewarding, to always do best, and by example, they taught me to put others first and give when I can.  My brother James is truly the best brother in the world. He is my sidekick in life and we have had countless adventures together. He has shown me to accept whatever happens and be happy at the moment. He has taug...

Meet Riley!

Hey, so you remember all those posts I did in July? Yeah, me either....I am sorry guys. Summer has been great! Full of adventures and fun. We had our VBS, celebrated the 4th, I had my college orientation (a hopeful future post), we went camping, and enjoyed many days outside in the sunshine. Along with all these fun summer activities, there has been an addition to our family.     Everyone, meet Riley! A fun-loving, three-year-old, German Sheppard. She came to us through Spokanimal, but she is originally from LA. There, she was found on the streets and had just had puppies. We don't know what happened to the puppies but are thrilled to have her in our family. Riley loves grass absolutely loves it. She rolls around in it all the time and wants to be outside as much as she can. So far, she has loved everyone she has ever been around. The first day we got her we had our VBS team and a couple guys came over and she loved them. Last week we had twenty band kids over for a c...

New Roads

Another adventure I have been up to is driving, I started driver's ed about 3 weeks ago and what and adventure it has been. Between navigating the DMV for my permit, learning to deal with teachers and classmates that are different from what I am used too. Not to mention the actual driving, hehee that has been entertaining. One of my first times out, there was an incident involving a Zip's parking lot, a turn lane and a learning what a drive thru lane is. Moral of story I now know what a turn lane is, everyone lived and I am sure that the guy in the drive thru wasn't in shock for long, whoops! Last night's adventure involved a car trying to cut me off, driving in too close at the gas station,  a imaginary person in the road and hitting a porcupine. (Which I actually cried over) What I am learning is that I am never going to be instantly perfect at something I am going to mess up. The important thing to remember is I have amazing parents here to help me learn, a class ...
