Everything Fall For Erika

We are officially a month into my favorite time of year. As anyone who knows me or has been following this blog for a while knows, September through December are my favorite months of the year. I love all the holidays, weather, fashion, food, events, all of it! It makes me so happy and makes me smile. Here are a few things that I have been doing to get in the fall mode.

1. Fall Decor
My mom put this center piece together for our dinning room
and I am in love!

2. Flannel
I have had a recent obsession with flannel. I love wearing them with jeans,
paired over a favorite tee, tied around with waist for jacket later, or under a sweater
for a pop of pattern. There are just so many styles and I love how cozy and wonderful they are.

3. Fall Coffee Flavors, Fall Colors, and Beautiful Country Views

I am a coffee LOVER and I drink it all year round in many flavors and styles.
When fall comes around my go to drink is a hot caramel mocha or a splash of caramel/vanilla
creamer. This tree pictured is outside my window and is pretty all year round. Sometimes before school I stand by my window and admire the beautiful place where I live.

4. Cozy Corners for Netflix, Reading or Daydreaming

I got inspired for this little piece of heaven from a youtube blogger Rosie Ziegler. I
I have had this spot in my room for a while and it has mainly been used to hid things. So a few blankets later, lovely throw pillows, your current reads, a pumpkin for style and sweet smelling candles...... Voila! A perfect corner to relax at the end of the day with your favorite TV show, a wonderful book or a cup of tea to unwind.

5. CANDLES!!!!
This one makes me really happy. I am a candle freak! I love how they add homeyness to a room.
The amazing scents they come in and their lovely flicker and glow. Oooo, it makes me so happy. These are some I picked up from Bath and Body Works. Pumpkin Pecan Waffle is my favorite, the others are Pumpkin Apple and Caramel Pumpkin Apple.

Fall is the best! Some other things I love is football, how excited the guys in my home get about hunting, fires in the fireplace, mom's soups when I come home from a long day and curling up in a quilt. Love the little things right?

Comment what your favorite fall things are, or maybe a recent obsession, what new TV shows are you into? Fall treats, activities? What do you do? I can't wait to hear all your cooking, decor, fashion and fun ideas you have!

What I am Learning as a Student Rep

Student Representative? What's that? It is a great  role that one girl and one boy run for every year at my co-op. Last year two of my wonderful friends were elected. Rachel and Jakob did a fantastic job. They are part of the reason I decided to run for Student Rep this year.     To start this road of politics I had to write a speech. I spent some time trying to figure out what I wanted to say. I knew what I wanted to say, but I felt like I couldn't phrase it convincingly enough. In the end I decided to state a few ideas I had and not over promise. I went with the idea that we could worry about the election and then go from there with what we wanted to do as a group.     It was a fun election and in the end I was elected the girl student rep. Luke, the boy student rep won as well and he is such a great guy to work with. I have enjoyed getting to know him and sharing ideas back and forth. Luke is so funny, smart and has fantastic ideas about what ...

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you had a good holiday with your family because I did. We traveled over to Richfield,  WA to visit with my Dad's family. This year we didn't do a "traditional" meal. We keep it simple,  but still nice.  Now as a girl who is very traditional,  when I first learned of this I was shocked! But as the day progessed I began thinking more about traditions. What do they really mean? How do they get started?   Here is where my thoughts lead me. I started with the traditions my family has and why we have them. Some of them we just do because we enjoy them and over time it became a tradition.  Others are used as a means of keeping family memories alive. All of the reasons are really good, but why do I get thrown for a loop so much when we don't do something the exact same way we have always done it.   What I really decided was, traditions are fun, but who you are chosing and how yoyr chosing to make memories with is wha...

The One Where I Graduate

Hey, Everyone! This girl did the thing, she got her diploma. Not without the help of some dear people. My teachers are incredible through the last few years at the co-op I have worked with me and taught me so many valuable and cherished lessons.  I have been blessed with a loving and hard-working Mother who has spent countless hours preparing and teaching lessons. She has spent time discussing, researching and praying over the best direction she needed to take with my education. My parents have encouraged me through any adventure I chose to embark on. They never let me believe I couldn't achieve whatever I set out to do. They taught me that hard work would always be rewarding, to always do best, and by example, they taught me to put others first and give when I can.  My brother James is truly the best brother in the world. He is my sidekick in life and we have had countless adventures together. He has shown me to accept whatever happens and be happy at the moment. He has taug...
