My Life in a Nutshell

Hey Guys! Wow, I can't believe it has been almost two months since my last post. You probably thought I was dead or that I forgot I had a blog. Well, I didn't forget, acutely there have been several times when I have sat down at my computer to write about what is going on my life. However, nothing ever came together into a cohesive thought.
I have missed it terribly, but I have also been incredibly busy enjoying life. As I told someone the other day I feel like I am on a roller coaster ride. Yet, I am learning so much and feel like I am really blessed.
As spring came to a close I finished up my last performances of things such as dance and band. My co-op came to a close. Then I had an amazing opportunity to go to Central Washington University and see their dance company perform. I also explored the campus and feel in love. I am hoping to do a longer post on this trip as part of the travel posts. Before you knew it school was over and I was starting my summer jobs. Yes, you heard me right it is plural.
I was privileged to get to see God answer the prayers I was praying all school year long. "Dear Lord, I need a summer job. I want to start saving for college, I feel like you have lead me to this decision. Show me where I need to go!"  By the time April rolled around I was close to freaking out. I had a resume put together, but I didn't have a clue as to where to send it. My mom and I put some want adds out in the local facebook sales pages. Within the same week I had someone asking me for an interview. That Saturday I went and did the interview. I was beyond nervous, but the employer I met with was so kind and nice I was soon put to some ease.
After being offered the job I took a weekend to think about it. I prayed and discussed it with my loving parents and soon came to the conclusion I would be an idiot not to take it. Long story short, I am now Maid-in-waiting to the Bride at a Touch of Country.
I absolutely love working there. It has only been a few weeks, but the people I work with make it feel like I am working with a family. I have so much to learn and after everyday of work I feel like I have improved, but also have a whole lot more to learn. However, when I stop and think I am going to be apart of making these couples most important day of their life special. I hope the little I am apart of their special day makes it better.
In addition to working at A Touch of Country, I am also babysitting for two families. One is a sweet little girl who I am going to call  Princess.  We have a great time reading, baking, doing puzzles, games and playing outside. I love watching her love for life and playing make believe. She is so creative and imaginative it makes me wish I could go back to that glorious land of make believe more easily.
The second family is for two kids. The oldest is a beautiful, outgoing, talented girl who we will call Rodeo Queen. She is dedicated to everything she does. I love watching her play with her brother who we will call Cowboy. The way they play together is truly sweet. We have had adventures at the park, the pool and the library. I believe everyone should spend time with kids and see the world through their eyes. It will make you think about the way you look at life.
The coolest part about working this summer is being able to take a step back and look at where it started and watching how God carried me through it. He was so marvelous and provided above and beyond what I could ever imagine. He is kinda cool like that. I have defiantly felt myself mature as I have undertaken this working life. But I am glad I don't have to be a grown up quite yet.
So that is basically what I have been up too. I am hoping to post more regularly as time permits. Thank you for reading my blog. I think it is so cool people want to read what I have to say.

The One Where I Graduate

Hey, Everyone! This girl did the thing, she got her diploma. Not without the help of some dear people. My teachers are incredible through the last few years at the co-op I have worked with me and taught me so many valuable and cherished lessons.  I have been blessed with a loving and hard-working Mother who has spent countless hours preparing and teaching lessons. She has spent time discussing, researching and praying over the best direction she needed to take with my education. My parents have encouraged me through any adventure I chose to embark on. They never let me believe I couldn't achieve whatever I set out to do. They taught me that hard work would always be rewarding, to always do best, and by example, they taught me to put others first and give when I can.  My brother James is truly the best brother in the world. He is my sidekick in life and we have had countless adventures together. He has shown me to accept whatever happens and be happy at the moment. He has taug...

Meet Riley!

Hey, so you remember all those posts I did in July? Yeah, me either....I am sorry guys. Summer has been great! Full of adventures and fun. We had our VBS, celebrated the 4th, I had my college orientation (a hopeful future post), we went camping, and enjoyed many days outside in the sunshine. Along with all these fun summer activities, there has been an addition to our family.     Everyone, meet Riley! A fun-loving, three-year-old, German Sheppard. She came to us through Spokanimal, but she is originally from LA. There, she was found on the streets and had just had puppies. We don't know what happened to the puppies but are thrilled to have her in our family. Riley loves grass absolutely loves it. She rolls around in it all the time and wants to be outside as much as she can. So far, she has loved everyone she has ever been around. The first day we got her we had our VBS team and a couple guys came over and she loved them. Last week we had twenty band kids over for a c...

New Roads

Another adventure I have been up to is driving, I started driver's ed about 3 weeks ago and what and adventure it has been. Between navigating the DMV for my permit, learning to deal with teachers and classmates that are different from what I am used too. Not to mention the actual driving, hehee that has been entertaining. One of my first times out, there was an incident involving a Zip's parking lot, a turn lane and a learning what a drive thru lane is. Moral of story I now know what a turn lane is, everyone lived and I am sure that the guy in the drive thru wasn't in shock for long, whoops! Last night's adventure involved a car trying to cut me off, driving in too close at the gas station,  a imaginary person in the road and hitting a porcupine. (Which I actually cried over) What I am learning is that I am never going to be instantly perfect at something I am going to mess up. The important thing to remember is I have amazing parents here to help me learn, a class ...
