Back In The Swing Of Things

I have been back from break a whole week and it already feels like it has been a month. For the most part everything went smoothly, school, music, dance, homework,  practice time, chores, life. Sunday I looked back on the week and told myself you did it you accomplished it all! Then this morning came, it hit me like a brick, the list of things I had forgotten in my haste to stay on top of my work load.
I had done my ballet and lyrical combos, but I had forgotten tap, I had put away all the Christmas stuff,  but I hadn't written all the thank you notes, I had unpacked from house sitting and a sleepover, but the laundry basket was overflowing in the closet. I had made the bed every day, but the sheets needed to be changed. Oh yeah and I haven't picked a new devotion yet so if anyone knows of one, please share thoughts!
Then I realized tonight as I finally stopped from the marathon of Monday. I was really only focausing on what I hadn't done.  That was making me stressed, but I started counting up what I did do and that made me feel a whole lot better. Thank you Lord for these little reminders that I can learn from my mistakes and stop chidding myself on how I screwed up. I will make it and I will succeed no stress needed. What makes you stressed leave them in the comments?

  1. Isn't it interesting that God focuses on what we have accomplished, not what we couldn't do....hmmm......

The One Where I Graduate

Hey, Everyone! This girl did the thing, she got her diploma. Not without the help of some dear people. My teachers are incredible through the last few years at the co-op I have worked with me and taught me so many valuable and cherished lessons.  I have been blessed with a loving and hard-working Mother who has spent countless hours preparing and teaching lessons. She has spent time discussing, researching and praying over the best direction she needed to take with my education. My parents have encouraged me through any adventure I chose to embark on. They never let me believe I couldn't achieve whatever I set out to do. They taught me that hard work would always be rewarding, to always do best, and by example, they taught me to put others first and give when I can.  My brother James is truly the best brother in the world. He is my sidekick in life and we have had countless adventures together. He has shown me to accept whatever happens and be happy at the moment. He has taug...

The One With All The Updates

Erika and Madame Blueberry   The last few months have been crazy busy, full of adventures and the like. It would take forever to tell you everything that has happened, but I will attempt an overview. Since April I was a stage manager to an amazing show called The Lonesome West . I learned so much from the actors I worked with and the experience to produce theatre in the back of a records shop.  Soon after the show closed I took my finals, loaded up my Cadillac (named Madame Blueberry) and left Ellensburg for the summer. I only had a few days to unload my college boxes and reload Madame Blueberry for my summer job. Camp Lutherhaven  Camp Lutherhaven! What an incredible, God arranged summer. There were days I wondered if I was up for the job, but the people I met and the experiences we shared were irreplaceable. When I was at college I made a comment to my mom that all I had to focus and worry about was me and how easy it was to only be concerned about myself...

What Has Kept Erika From Blogging???

After the first night of shows I was so close to getting February's post in February. I sat down to write this so many times, but with a million papers to write for school the idea of writing more at the end of the day seems absolutely impossible. Which is depressing because I love writing. However, the homework has slowed down, relatively, I mean finals are around the corner. Anyway, I did want to update you on a few awesome things that have been happening in my life. Artsy photo that I took in the dressing room before the show.  First Distracted, the first CWU show I was apart of, went up in January. It went really well I had such an amazing, supportive cast, director, and crew. My amazing, wonderful, family and some family friends came to see me. It was an incredible experience and the topic of the show was one that reached a ton of people. I learned to play a character that was completely opposite of who I am and different from anyone I know which was learning exp...
